Evergreen tree native to North Eastern NSW and Central/South East QLD. Grows 2-12 m.
Macadamia nut tree, Queensland Nut, will usually begin to produce commercial quantities of nuts from 7-10 years of age, and will bear nuts for over 100 years. They prefer fertile, well drained soils and tolerate rain fall of 1000-2000mm. The roots are shallow, and thus the tree will need shelter from strong winds, cyclones etc.
