Jalapeno is a cultivar of the Capcicum. Prefers warmer climates, optimum temperature for seed germincation is 29 degrees celcius. Can be grown as a Perennial, however soil amendments need to be made prior to plant growth period. Pruning plants is possible after the harvest season to extend plant life into next year.

Fruit fly will sting the fruit in the warmer months.

Excellent for canning.

Five plants will be a good number of plants to provide sufficient steady crop during the growing season, however extra over this is recommended to grow a sufficient amount for pickling.

Best success occurs when seeded in small pots and transplanted into the garden when the plants are harder and more established.
